Soul Letters Anniversary

Dear Soul Friends,
This morning after three days of rain, amber and purple grasses in the meadow are sodden and flattened. A young maple tree now turned red highlights the yellow hew of a lichen covered birch tree standing beside it. In the distance, two deer lope and hide among rustic brown and green cattails as they search for their morning breakfast. Stopping and nibbling, they are enchanting to watch. A gray and cloudy sky dampens the brilliance of color but quietly invites us into the blessing of nature’s wonder.
A year ago, I wrote the first Dear Soul Friends letter inviting you to join me on a journey of listening to the wisdom of our souls. My book, Soul Conversations: A Pilgrimage of the Heart, begins and ends with a Letter to Soul Friends and I thought it would be interesting to apply the idea of these letters to the Substack platform. It was a leap of faith. I am not familiar with the ins and outs of social media and I was not sure how you would respond.
It has been a delightful surprise to receive your emails and comments over this past year. You have motivated me to keep writing and to keep my heart and mind open to the movement of mystery that I call Holy Presence. There are some weeks when I know exactly what I want to say and other weeks when I wonder what will unfold but all along, I have enjoyed knowing that you are listening and seeking your own understanding of how Holy Presence moves in your life. In a way, we have formed a small online spiritual congregation.
The Physician and Wisdom Teacher Rachael Naomi Remen wrote,
Perhaps the secret of living well is not in having all the answers
but in pursuing unanswerable questions in good company.
You are good company! It is always a gift to hear from you and to get to know your thoughts about soul listening. If you have any questions or topics that you would like to know about, please let me know. I will do my best to answer them and to share with you the quiet musings of my soul. I look forward to another year of writing.
As you journey through your week, may you be blessed with the assurance that you are held in the glory and beauty of Holy light and love.
Deep peace to you,
Susan
